If you abuse anabolic steroid injection, your testicles are going to atrophy and it’s going to happen quickly.
As a matter of fact, you’ll start noticing the changes in just a matter of days.
Most guys would be able to live with this initial shrinkage if it were stop there, but it doesn’t.
As things progress, the user will begin to notice that his balls no longer fill up his sack or hang low the way they used too.
So all of a sudden, there will be all this empty space inside his scrotum, and instead of his balls standing front center; his sack will be what stands out the most.
And it will look almost empty.
If he continues with the steroid injection; the weight and volume of his testicles will continue to drop to the point where his scrotum will start to tighten up and his balls will move up closer to his body.
And this is where panic often sets in because in cold weather; his penis may actually cover up his scrotal sack entirely, making it look like he’s been castrated.
This could be described as the grape stage; where his once normal sized testicles now look and feel no larger than a small sized grape.
So in essence, our man at this point has traded in his balls for some extra muscle that’s going to disappear entirely once the steroid injection abuse stops.
Doesn’t sound like much of a bargain to me.
Many men agree with me once they wind up here and go off the steroid injection entirely; but this creates its own set of problems, the biggest of which is estrogen rebound..
You see, a steroid cycle suppresses estrogen production; but when you go off, the flood gates swing wide open leading to a rush of estrogen that atrophies the testicles even more.
At the same time, testosterone and its derivatives begin to plummet, which only makes the situation worse; which partially explains the blatant depression that often hits a man who’s just gone off steroid injection.
And remember, the larger the dosage and the longer the cycle, the worse this situation gets.
I’ve heard from many men who’ve abused steroids 5, 10, and even 15 years back who have still not regained the size lost during one single cycling event.
This is clearly a situation where one bad decision can haunt you for quite a long while.
Post Cycle Therapy (PCT)
PCT is often touted as the quick solution to atrophy caused by an anabolic steroid cycle; but it doesn’t always work out as planned.
HCG, Clomid, Nolva and other agents are injected and swallowed in an attempt to get things back to normal; but the luteinizing hormone signaling needed for proper testicle function doesn’t always return the way it should.
And even if it does, and he starts to experience some testicle growth, he’ll often still have sexual side effects; such as poor erections, low ejaculation volume and decreased sex drive, and these symptoms can last for years.
And this physical state can lead to long term depressive symptoms or even outright psychosis in men who are susceptible.
A paper published in The American Journal of Psychiatry found that 12% of the steroid using athletes they interviewed displayed psychotic symptoms.
Other users have been misdiagnosed post cycle with bipolar disorder and even antisocial personality disorder.
And once this happens, psychosis medications can be added to the list of things he’ll be tempted to take in an attempt to counteract the negatives brought on by his use of anabolic steroids.
Of course, psychosis isn’t going to affect every single man who abuses steroid injection; but the atrophy and sexual side effects will.
So if you’re contemplating going on a steroid cycle yourself, I suggest you think twice; because the temporary gain in muscle will not be worth the cost you will pay once you eventually cycle off.
